Sustainability is defined as “meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs”. Eleco defines sustainable Construction as material efficiency, faster construction times and efficient resource management throughout the build process and lifespan of the project.
Raw Materials and Sourcing
Eleco recognises that different raw materials are appropriate for different applications. When sourcing raw materials, Eleco uses suppliers who adhere to high sustainability policies, ensuring that a material is able to offer the maximum performance over the lifespan of the building. Eleco production methods and product engineers aim to continually reduce raw material usage and wastage within our products.
Reducing CO2 Emmissions
Our Building systems are engineered to improve energy consumption and associated CO2 emissions throughout the lifecycle of the building. Our software tools enable the effective planning of projects, reducing energy and resource consumption on site.
Lifecycle Assesssment
A life cycle analysis and assessment (also known as life cycle analysis, life cycle inventory, cradle-to-gate/grave-analysis and material flow analysis) is the assessment of the environmental impact of a given product or service throughout its lifespan. LCA is the principle that underlies the Building Research Establishment's (BRE) drive to reduce carbon emissions.
