Agile Delivery Lead

ShireSystem, part of Eleco Asset Management, is looking for an Agile Delivery Lead to help drive the delivery of a mission-critical software platform used by organisations across asset-intensive industries.

This is not a traditional Scrum Master role. We’re looking for someone who can lead Agile delivery across the R&D function while also contributing technically within the development environment. You’ll work at the centre of Product, Engineering and Delivery — helping the team plan effectively, remove blockers, coordinate releases and improve the way software is delivered, while also contributing to technical discussions and development activity where needed.

You’ll be joining a team building and evolving enterprise software used by customers in sectors such as life sciences, food & beverage, manufacturing and other regulated or operationally complex environments. As the platform continues to evolve, we’re also looking for someone who is comfortable working in a team increasingly exploring AI-enabled tools, workflows and product opportunities.

What you'll be doing

In this role, you’ll help shape how work moves through the engineering team and ensure delivery remains structured, predictable and aligned to business priorities. You’ll:

  • Lead Agile delivery across the R&D team, facilitating sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews and retrospectives
  • Own the coordination of sprint scope, releases, timelines, dependencies and delivery commitments
  • Work closely with Product Owners and engineering teams to keep backlogs clear, prioritised and ready for development
  • Identify blockers, manage risks and dependencies, and help the team maintain delivery momentum
  • Provide clear visibility of progress, delivery status and risks to key stakeholders
  • Drive continuous improvement in Agile practices, team efficiency and overall delivery processes
  • Act as a key link between product, engineering and the wider business, ensuring shared understanding of priorities and scope
  • Contribute directly within the software delivery environment through technical collaboration, sprint planning, estimation and development support
  • Support engineering best practice, technical quality and release readiness across the team
What We're Looking For:

We’d love to hear from people who bring a blend of Agile delivery leadership, software development understanding and strong stakeholder coordination.
We’re particularly interested in people with:

  • Experience in an Agile Delivery Lead, Scrum Master or similar delivery-focused software role
  • Strong knowledge of Scrum and Agile delivery practices, including sprint planning, backlog management, estimation and release coordination
  • Experience working closely with software engineering teams and confidence operating in a technical delivery environment, rather than purely project administration
  • The ability to contribute meaningfully to technical planning, delivery discussions and development workflows
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to align product, engineering and business priorities
  • A proactive approach to identifying and removing impediments, managing risks and improving delivery performance
  • Experience with tools such as Azure DevOps or Jira
  • Good understanding of modern software engineering practices such as code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD and API-driven development
  • Experience in .NET / .NET Core environments or other modern software engineering teams where delivery and technical execution are closely linked
AI and modern engineering

We’re also keen to speak with people who are comfortable working in teams that are starting to make greater use of AI in software delivery and product development. That could include:

  • practical experience using AI tools to improve delivery efficiency, planning, documentation or development workflows
  • exposure to AI / machine learning concepts in a software environment
  • an interest in how AI can support product functionality, engineering productivity and better customer outcomes

  • join a business investing in the future of its platforms, including AI-enabled product and engineering capability
