James has over 25 years of senior leadership experience in technology and the built environment. He is the founder of Digital Trees, a consultancy that specialises in Digital Transformation in the Real Estate Sector. They advise property companies, consultancies and tech companies on emerging trends in real estate related technology – from AI adoption, strategic planning and implementation of transformational technology.
Previously James was Director at Great Portland Estates (GPE) plc, where he developed and executed strategies to improve staff productivity and reduce energy consumption through digital transformation in line with the organisation’s customer first and net zero ambitions. Having overseen the successful delivery of over 6 million square feet of commercial, residential and retail space across central London. James shaped the business to become a market leader in smart buildings, creating the world’s first Platinum SmartScore building at The Hickman.
James also previously served in Executive Roles at UK PropTech Association and the British Council for Offices. He is currently strategic advisor to emerging tech company Laiout and a Venture Partner at Pi Labs, a Seed to Series A Venture Capital firm.
James studied Digital Transformation and AI at MIT.
